Jun 25, 2024

Sip of the Week: A dear friend of over 15 years shares her own health journey story with us to help educate about a chronic and pervasive diagnosis that many are living with but is rarely talked about- Endometriosis. Nikki touches on the importance of listening to your body, trusting your gut and advocating for the support you deserve. She leaves us all with a challenge to use our voices to help others on a broader scale, and she gives some helpful tips on how to use your mind to sooth and heal your body. Let it Brew: The mind holds incredible power in the journey of healing and navigating chronic illnesses. Positive thinking, mindfulness, and stress-reduction techniques can significantly impact the body’s ability to manage and cope with chronic conditions. Practices like meditation, guided imagery, and cognitive-behavioral therapy help reduce stress, lower inflammation, and improve overall quality of life. By fostering a resilient mindset and engaging in mental exercises that promote relaxation and positivity, individuals can enhance their body’s natural healing processes and improve their well-being, even in the face of chronic illness.

Post-Tea Pursuits: This week, your challenge is to increase your connection with and trust in your body. Begin with a daily body scan: sit quietly for a few minutes, close your eyes, and take deep breaths. Pay attention to how your body feels—notice any areas of tension, discomfort, or ease. Notice what emotions are coming up, what thoughts you are having and tune in to what is going on around you. Throughout the week, practice this scan 3x/ day- Morning, afternoon, and night. With the information it provides begin responding to your body’s needs: rest when you’re tired, eat when you’re hungry, and move in ways that feel good.
