Let it Brew: When our minds get caught in loops of worry, fear, or self-criticism, we often feel physically and mentally exhausted. A mind reset isn't about forcing positive thinking, but rather creating space to observe our thought patterns without judgment while engaging our senses to shift our state. Like navigating a rip current, fighting directly against our mental patterns only leads to exhaustion. Instead, we can work with our minds, combining self-compassion with intentional action. Small interventions—stepping outside, feeling the sun on your face, placing your hands on a tree, or taking three conscious breaths—can create powerful shifts, interrupting those spinning mental wheels and offering glimpses of clarity in the midst of mental chatter.
Post-Tea Pursuits: PRACTICE THE OBSERVER ROLE in your daily life this week.
On your own, take 5 minutes to check in with yourself. Ask yourself:
- Where am I feeling stuck or frozen in my thinking right now?
- How is this showing up in my body? What physical sensations am I aware of?
- What small action could I take today to engage my senses and shift my state?
Commit to one small sensory reset practice this week when you feel mentally stuck. Maybe it's stepping outside to hug a tree (yes, really!), listening to music that moves you, or trying a few minutes of mindful movement. WRITE IT DOWN, and see how it shifts your energy!
